AFP: Members Make “House Calls” in Oregon, Across America

AFP Oregon

Across Oregon and the nation, AFP members, the 912 Project and their allies rallied at Congressional offices yesterday to deliver the message “Hands Off My Health Care.”  With Congress poised to adopt the largest expansion of government power over individual lives since the Great Society programs of the 1960s, opposition to placing a bureaucrat between doctors and patients is growing.

In Washington, DC thousands of activists from across the country rallied with Members of Congress who have pledged to oppose the government take-over.  Some AFP-Oregon members caught flights at the last minute to be part of the extraordinary scene.  These grassroots efforts are having an impact!

In Oregon, AFP members showed up in Oregon City, Salem, Bend, LaGrande and other offices across the state.  More than 70 – led by AFP Lane County Chapter Leader Becky Lemler – ralled at Cong. DeFazio’s office.  Dale and Sarah Seale, the AFP Clackamas County Chapter Leaders, brought together more than 100 demonstrators at Cong. Kurt Schrader’s office.  AFP’s Clark County Chapter got into the act, bringing more then 40 members to Sen. Murray and Cong. Baird’s offices in Vancouver.

If you could not attend a “House Call” yesterday, there is still a chance for you to help stop a government take over of health care.  Please contact your Congressman today and urge him to keep his “Hands Off Our Health Care!”
