AFP: Hot Air Tour Rocks Portland, Gore

AFP Oregon

More than 300 AFP members and allies gathered at the Keller Fountain Park in Portland for a “Hot Air Tour” stop last night to let former Vice President Al Gore know that his brand of global warming alarmism is way too expensive.  Traveling from as far away as Eugene and Seattle, AFP, 912 Project, Patriotic Resistance and others joined together to overwhelm a much smaller group seeking to support Gore’s vision of higher taxes, lost jobs and less freedom and causing one liberal Gore supporter to lament, “How can there be so many of them?”

Rally goers enjoyed live music from “We the Band” and Dr. Rick Jackson and heard inspirational speeches from AFP National President Tim Phillips, AFP State Director Jeff Kropf, local AFP Chapter Leaders Jeffery Reynolds and Tom Hann, 912 Project’s Art Scevola and Dave Candlish of Patriotic Resistance.  Providing facts were Todd Wynn of Cascade Policy Institute and Chuck Weise.  The event was ably emceed by “FreeMC” Richard Burke.

Media coverage was understandably heavy.  Rally-goers were encouraged to sign petitions to their US Senators opposing Cap and Trade legislation – which would increase taxes and destroy jobs and freedoms as well as opposing the Environmental Protection Agency’s plans to regulation CO2 as a “pollutant.”

AFP-Oregon thanks Bob Pleska, We the Band, Dr. Rick Jackson, the Portland Police, Tech Audio, City of Portland Parks & Recreation Department, Honey Bucket, Kita Xayachack and Paul van Orden.
