AFP: What will the next decade mean for freedom and prosperity?

Americans for Prosperity

In just a few hours, you and I will witness the beginning of a new year and a whole new decade. What will the next ten years mean for economic freedom and prosperity in America?

There are two ways you and I can answer that question and write this next chapter in our history: give up and let events and others dictate our nation’s future…or… fight back and preserve the greatest nation in history for our children and grandchildren.

As I write this, our family is driving back from a wonderful time in South Carolina with my extended family. We ate a lot of good southern food (best dessert: Mom takes two Ritz crackers, slaps peanut butter between them, dunks them in milk chocolate and then spreads some kind of frosting over the entire concoction) and enjoyed great times together. Being in the same house where I grew up always causes me to think back to times long gone but principles learned that endure through today.

Mom and Dad always taught us that we could accomplish anything and be anything if we worked hard and kept the faith, because we lived in the United States of America. My parents are in their 70s now and they did their job. They did their part for our nation and our freedoms — and they continue their dedicated efforts even now. Today, I want to make sure I do my part.

Something tells me you learned the same principles of freedom, opportunity, hard work and the truly exceptional manner in which these principles came together to form our nation.

Perhaps that’s why you’ve chosen to fight back, to defend our freedoms and the greatness that is America.

At Americans for Prosperity, we are honored to serve on the same team with you. I cannot wait for 2010 to get here because victory is within our grasp.

But, I want to ask you for one last thing in 2009. Will you consider a final tax deductible year-end contribution to fund the work of Americans for Prosperity?

In 2009, America faced huge threats to our liberty and economic freedom. Fortunately, the unprecedented grassroots outpouring from citizens like YOU has made it an extremely difficult year for Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and President Obama. However, they’re going to be back in 2010 with their radical liberal agenda. We’ve got to be ready to take them on again.

You can help make sure we’re ready. Just click here to contribute today:

Thank you once again for all you’re doing on behalf of freedom. Together, let’s make 2010 — and this whole new decade — a monument to the power of economic freedom, opportunity and prosperity.
