THE OREGON REPUBLICAN: January 22, 2010

The Oregon Republican
Friday, January 22nd

Your Final Chance to Make a Difference

In this critical moment in our state and our nation’s history, YOU can be the difference!

On Tuesday, Massachusetts voters sent a clear message to the nation in favor of fiscal responsibility and checks-and-balances in Washington when they elected Scott Brown to the United States Senate.

No one believed it was possible – especially in the bluest of blue states.  But the political naysayers who discounted Brown’s candidacy miscalculated one important factor – the voters’ utter dissatisfaction with the status quo and runaway government spending.

We stopped universal health care in Massachusetts – now we can stop higher taxes and wasteful government spending here in Oregon!

We are leading the effort to turn out the anti-tax vote across Oregon and have already made hundreds of thousands of calls and knocked on thousands of doors, however, we need to redouble our efforts over the final days.

Help us keep the momentum going. With your support we can defeat these job-killing taxes and send a message to Salem that Oregon needs more jobs, not more taxes.

Please take a moment today to sign up to volunteer before Election Day.  Voter turnout is key to defeating the Job-Killing Taxes! Click Here to see the list of our seven Victory phone bank locations across the state where you can help most in the next four days!

If you haven’t mailed your ballot already, drop it at an official ballot drop site before 8pm on Tuesday January 26th. Click Here to find a drop site in your area. This election will be close – voter turnout will decide this election. It’s up to you to make your voice heard on Tuesday!

Scott Brown’s Victory in Massachusetts and Our Prospects for Oregon in 2010 Elections

The Oregon Republican Party would like to congratulate Scott Brown and his family on his election to the United States Senate to represent the people of Massachusetts. This is a historic win and a victory consistent with the Republican wins in the Virginia and New Jersey Governor’s races.  Across America, Republicans are on the rise, bringing more responsible government which lives within our means and is consistent with our core values of personal responsibility, enterprise, and personal and economic freedom!

Senator Brown’s campaign brought people together, reaching out to independent voters and conservatives in Massachusetts and across the country to rally as a robust and energized Republican Party. Here in Oregon we have the chance to build on that momentum and score a victory against higher taxes and wasteful government spending with the defeat of Measures 66 and 67 next Tuesday. Everyone needs to do their part, first by voting if you haven’t already, and to volunteer if you can at one of the Victory phone banks this weekend for the final push to Get Out The Vote.

Oregon’s Senator Ron Wyden should be very concerned about Brown’s upset in Massachusetts.  President Obama won Massachusetts by 26% over Senator McCain, while he only won Oregon by 16%. If a Republican can win in Massachusetts, they can win here in Oregon!
