Other: “Repeal It” Attracts Over 230 Candidates

This week, the Club for Growth’s Repeal It campaign was one of the most talked-about topics in Washington and in political debates around the country. In the days after the House of Representatives rammed through President Obama’s $2 trillion health care bill, citizens, candidates, and members of Congress ran to to sign the pledge to rescue our economy from ObamaCare.

Today, we received the signed Repeal It pledge from all three top Republicans in the House, and we are working on lining up every member of Congress we can, in both parties. ObamaCare is so pervasive and dangerous that its repeal is the most important economic priority for the country for the 2010, and probably the 2012 elections.

The Repeal It movement is definitely putting pressure on Washington right now, but it’s not just about making Congress feel the heat – it’s about making them see the light. Even if Americans elect a Repeal It majority in November, Barack Obama can still veto any effort to undo his health care takeover. It’s going to take at least two election cycles to repeal it and replace them.

The Club and the Club’s PAC can’t do any of it without you. Your contribution to the Club for Growth will help us immediately get the word out around the country about the dangers of ObamaCare and the need to Repeal It as soon as possible. The major provisions of the program do not kick in until 2014, and in some cases even later. It is possible to rescue our health care system from an unnecessary federal takeover. Last Sunday’s vote was not the end a yearlong debate – it was the beginning of a three-year fight to take back control of the economic agenda in Washington. Please take a moment and review the list of nearly 300 members and candidates who have already taken the pledge, and if yours isn’t on the list, urge him to do so!

Have a great weekend.

Best Regards,
